High Anxiety
1977
***½
Director: Mel Brooks
Cast: Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Harvey Korman, Ron Carey

Mel Brooks’ Hitchcock parody has some hilarious moments (the shower scene from Psycho, the gathering of the Birds) but as a whole it’s not one of his best. The main story about a famed psychiatrist who suffers from high anxiety is based on Vertigo, which most people hadn’t seen for 20 years when this film came out.
