Michael Corleone attempts to legitimise his family's business by investing in a Vatican-controlled company, but the plan doesn't go down well with the other crime families. The final chapter of the Corleone saga cannot reach the brilliance of parts I and II, but it is not nearly as bad as its reputation would suggest. This is a compelling drama about guilt, betrayal, and redemption, once again scripted by Coppola and Mario Puzo. Al Pacino as the emotionally drained Michael and Andy Garcia as his temperamental nephew give terrific performances, but Sofia Coppola is famously useless as Michael's daughter, Mary.
