28 years after 28 Weeks Later, the Rage Virus remains contained within the British Isles, where a small community of survivors lives on an isolated island. 12-year-old Spike, whose mother is gravely ill, is about to undergo a rite of passage on the mainland alongside his father. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, who created the original 28 Days Later return for the third part in the series. It features familiar and frankly predictable fights between the survivors and the infected, who have evolved, but also some fascinating new ideas about isolation and what family and death mean in a ravaged world. The film was mostly shot with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. I'm not quite sure what I feel about the unusual and overpowering soundtrack by Young Fathers. Followed by 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.
