After a drug deal turns into a shootout, morally conflicted Detective Walker aims to find and protect the son of a corrupt businessman before a vengeful Triad and crooked narcotics detectives track him down. Gareth Evans' murky second-rate action movie was released 3½ years after it wrapped its principal photography. I guess it needed even more reshoots, because the director's cartoonish script doesn't feature one properly drawn character, and therefore no one I could care about. Evans made his name with the thrilling but ultimately monotonous The Raid. The action scenes here are even more brutal, but frankly incomprehensible. I couldn't tell what the hell was happening, and to whom, because the camera either shakes restlessly or is positioned right behind the muzzle flash.
