Jacques Demy's iconic musical is renowned for its dialogue, which is entirely delivered through song. However, this is also the only aspect of the film that I do not warm up to. The story is poignant and moving, the vibrant visuals look amazing, and Michel Legrand's Je ne pourrai jamais vivre sans toi is a beautiful song.
