Four armed strangers, who are convinced that an apocalypse is at hand, take a family hostage at their remote cabin and ask them to make an impossible choice. M. Night Shyamalan's taut and effective 90-minute thriller makes the most of a simple twist-free story, which was adapted from Paul G. Tremblay's 2018 novel The Cabin at the End of the World. Unfortunately, the story in question is intermittently silly, dumb, and implausible.
