A group of teenage computer hackers uncover a plot to unleash a destructive computer virus. As they race against time to expose the scheme, they must outwit both the authorities and the cybercriminals working against them. This dorky but surprisingly likeable thriller came out in the early days of the Internet, and it portrays hackers as sympathetic and idealistic people who share a lifestyle. In good and bad, this cult film is very much a child of its time. The appropriately pulsating soundtrack features quintessential 90s artists, such as The Prodigy, Underworld, and Stereo MCs. Angelina Jolie appears in one of her first major roles.
