Following the death of her estranged and eccentric mother, Annie and her two children suffer strange visions. Are these supernatural occurences or symptoms of the mental illness running in the family? Ari Aster's feature debut is a powerful, unsettling, and skillfully directed horror film. However, I'm not fully on board with where the story ends up. Toni Collette gives a physically draining performance.
