Director: Quentin Tarantino
Cast: Brad Pitt, Christoph waltz, Michael Fassbender, Daniel Brühl, Diane Kruger
Christoph Waltz stars as a brilliant, charming and fiendish SS colonel who’s in charge of tracking down the remaining Jews in France. Brad Pitt, on the other hand, plays the leader of an American Jewish Nazi-scalping squad. The paths of these two men eventually cross in a Paris cinema towards the end of the war. Waltz was showered with acting accolades, including an Oscar, for his mesmerising performance, whereas Pitt with his stiff jaw and Tennessee twang acts like he’s in a second rate comedy. Sadly this inconsistency runs throughout Tarantino’s WW2 fantasy, which contains some terrific scenes in its excessive 2½ hours.
