Paul is in a relationship with his fellow teacher Sarah, who struggles to understand his obsessive devotion to Arsenal, particularly now that the football club have a chance to win their first title in 18 years. This sweet but predictable romantic comedy deals with the clash between personal and romantic priorities. The film was adapted from Nick Hornby's book, like High Fidelity, which also features an obsessive asshole who doesn't deserve his implausibly understanding girlfriend.
