Jeffrey, a divorced Army veteran, became known as the Roofman for breaking into numerous McDonald's restaurants through their roofs. After escaping prison in 2004, he ends up hiding inside a Toys "R" Us store for months. Derek Cianfrance's charming crime comedy is based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester. As portrayed by Channing Tatum, he is an endlessly nice guy who only knows one way of showing affection to the people he loves: by buying them things. His escapades are relatively entertaining, and there is even time for a romance with a single mother played by Kirsten Dunst, but the problem is that I never felt sorry for the man.
