After her husband's death, a grieving widow travels to a frozen lake in Minnesota to scatter his ashes. She finds herself useful again when she stumbles upon a couple who are holding a teenage girl captive. Brian Kirk's passable thriller makes the most of the wintry setting and the remote cabin that the story revolves around. The motive behind the kidnapping, however, is dumb and far-fetched, to say the least. Emma Thompson gives a strong lead performance as the resilient old woman, even if the character often explains her thoughts and memories out loud.
