Sarah and David both pick up a car from a mysterious car rental company. The two meet at a wedding and embark on a fantastical journey during which they revisit pivotal moments from their pasts and gain new insight into the choices that shaped their lives. It looks like the works of Kogonada are not for me. I wasn't crazy about Columbus, I liked After Yang even less, and this one is just a simply awful romantic drama with poorly explained fantastical elements and schmaltzy sentimentality. Sarah and David, both uninteresting on their own, have absolutely no chemistry together, but it's obvious how the story will end. They take all that unfolds at face value, and neither of them thinks to ask the key question: what the hell is going on?
