Adam and Eve, a centuries-old vampire couple, are reunited in Detroit. While Adam has become a reclusive and depressed musician, Eve enjoys literature, culture, and the company of their old friend Christopher Marlowe. Jim Jarmusch's slow-burning vampire film looks great and features a lovely soundtrack, primarily by the director's own band, Sqürl. However, I never engaged with the minimalist plot or the pretentious characters. The arrival of Eve’s reckless younger sister Ava at the halfway point adds some much-needed energy, but unfortunately she is the most infuriating of all the characters.
