Pablo, a successful director of gay films, is writing a role for his transgender sister Tina. One night he meets the volatile Antonio, whose obsessive and passionate love unsettles Pablo’s life and creative world. Pedro Almodóvar's self-indulgent (or deliberately ironic) comedic thriller follows a celebrated filmmaker who seems irresistible to men. This irreverent story of identity, obsession, and longing has tonal issues, and many of its scenes are ridiculous for the wrong reasons.
