After Pepa is abandoned by her lover Iván, she meets a group of eccentric characters: Iván’s ex-wife and son and his fiancée, and a friend who is caught up in a terrorist subplot. This early Pedro Almodóvar comedy is filled with mad energy. The film is silly and wacky, and I could never really warm up to its screwball comedy, sketchy characters, and harshly lit sets.
