Two thirteen‑year‑old boys, Leo and Remi, share an intensely close friendship, but things take a sudden turn when the new school year starts. Lukas Dhont's coming‑of‑age drama tells a tender and heart‑wrenching story about friendship, love, identity, and loss. However, I feel the film should spend more of its runtime on establishing the breakup of the relationship to allow the ensuing tragedy to have more impact. Nevertheless, Eden Dambrine gives an amazingly mature debut performance as Leo.
