Possibly the final Mission: Impossible instalment continues where Dead Reckoning left us. While the Entity, a powerful AI, gradually seizes control of nuclear weapon systems across the world, Ethan Hunt and his team aim to find the source code and destroy it. The eight film is the longest one in the series, and it could easily shave some minutes off the runtime, particularly in its first hour, by trusting that we remember what happened last time around. However, when the action finally does kick in, I was supremely entertained. The two main set pieces, the dive to the nuclear submarine and the biplane chase, are simply breathtaking.
