Abe Lucas, a newly appointed philosophy professor at Braylin College, is going through an existential crisis. That is, until he gets inspired to commit a perfect crime. Despite the promising cast, this is another mediocre and predictable late-period Woody Allen film that revolves around his two favourite motifs: getting away with crime and a romantic relationship with a large age cap. The unattractive, alcoholic, and impotent professor is irresistible to students and faculty members alike after he makes a few superficially deep observations about life. These characters do not resemble real people, and their troubles are not worth my while.
