After a married couple die in a car accident, they find themselves trapped as ghosts in their own home. When a new family moves in, the couple attempts to scare them away. Tim Burton's horror comedy is loved by many, but I didn't care for its charms when it came out, and my opinion hasn't changed over the years. The stop motion special effects are cute, and Michael Keaton gives a wacky and energetic performance as Betelgeuse. Other than that, the film is bit of a bore. Followed by a 2024 sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
