Pink is a depressed rock star haunted by the death of his father in WW2, an overprotective mother, oppressive schooling, and the breakdown of his marriage. He withdraws from reality and constructs a metaphorical wall around himself. This surreal, music-driven drama mixes live action and animation into a distinctive, though at times heavy-going, experience. The story is based on Pink Floyd's 1979 concept album The Wall, and the screenplay was written by its primary songwriter, Roger Waters.
