A divorced mother and her teenaged daughter move into a large New York townhouse. During a break-in, they retreat into a heavily fortified panic room, which is exactly where the three burglars need to get. This Hitchcockian thriller doesn't offer too may surprises, but it provides solid entertainment. David Koepp's screenplay makes the most of a limited setup, while David Fincher really seems to be enjoying himself as the camera moves fluidly through walls, floors, and kitchen utensils.
