Prot, a mysterious new patient at a psychiatric hospital, claims that he comes from a distant planet called K-PAX. His psychiatrist, Dr. Mark Powell, attempts to uncover the truth behind these oddly convincing claims. This smart, funny, and entertaining drama is based on a 1995 novel by Gene Brewer. The story gets off to a great start, then hits a little lull in the middle, but wraps it all up with a wonderfully subtle and ambiguous ending. Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges are both very good.
